I've been a passionate mountaineer since childhood, particularly hut-to-hut hikes, high-alpine tours, and trail running. Later, I supplemented these experiences with the knowledge and experience I gained in the Marine Corps, and recently became a certified hiking guide in Austria.

I'd love to take you on a hike in our backyard (Otztal Alps) or a little further afield, for example to South Tyrol, the Stubai Valley, or the Zillertal Valley. I organize and guide the tour and provide useful information about nature, the weather, map reading, and much more.

The perfect location of our Basecamp offers endless possibilities, all within a short travel time.

During peak season (children's holidays), I go on hikes with Basecamp guests. Outside of peak season, I offer various tours. For example, a week-long hut-to-hut hike around the Ortler (South Tyrol's highest mountain) or a week at Basecamp with various day hikes to the most beautiful spots in the Kauner and Oberinntal valleys.

I would also be happy to help you plan your hikes or hut-to-hut tours.

Day trips

In both summer and winter, I'll take you into the mountains. Day trips can be booked for Basecamp guests and anyone staying in the area. I organize these on fixed dates. It's also possible to extend day trips with one or more overnight stays in a hut. The cost of a day trip depends on the number of participants.

Summer day trips include:

Roter Schrofen (2,600 m), with views of the Wildspitze and Zugspitze, can be climbed directly from the house. We'll end the day on a terrace overlooking the route before taking the lift back down.

Glockturm 3355m, a fantastic route in high alpine terrain with views of Italy, Switzerland, and the highest peaks of Tyrol.

Hohe Riffler (3,166 m), the highest point of the Verwall Mountains. Because this mountain is quite isolated, you'll feel like you're on top of the region. Phenomenal views of the Silvretta and Zugspitze.

Furgler 3004 hm, high above Serfaus, with beautiful views of the Silvretta, Switzerland and Italy.
